CSI: Miami and My Sister’s Keeper star Evan Ellingson dies at 35


Evan Ellingson, the former child star best known for his work on CSI: Miami and in the film My Sister’s Keeper, has died at the age of 35, according to reports.

TMZ reports the actor died on Sunday at a sober-living home, with his father Michael confirming the sad news to the publication.

The outlet reports the death is a shock to the family as he had been doing well recently.

A cause of death has not been determined.

Ellingson was known for his work in CSI: Miami as Kyle Harmon, the son of Horatio, which he starred in from 2007 to 2010.

He appeared in My Sister’s Keeper opposite Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin in 2009.

Based on the novel of the same name by Jodi Picoult, the film centred on a girl who wanted medical emancipation from her parents and whose sister was battling cancer. 

Other credits to his name include the TV series General Hospital and Complete Savages.

He also starred in the hit series 24 as the nephew of Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer.

His last acting credit was CSI: Miami in 2010, but he got his start in Hollywood at the young age of 13.

According to People, his entry into fame was when he was discovered at a skate park and asked to do a Vans commercial.

He also told Philstar Global about working in the industry as a child star and said his childhood was different to that of his friends.

“I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one,” he said.

“I was busy doing the things I love. I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.”
