The actor shared a story on X from his time on set filming the second film back in 2002, said he was “miserable” and “depressed” on set – despite the film being based on festive cheer.

He went on to say that there was once a fire on set, in the toy workshop.

“OK. Last story for a while. This one’s my fave. A tale of real time ego deflation. It’s 2002. I’m 24 years young,” he began.

“I shoot The Santa Clause 2 in Vancouver. It’s been 8 years since we shot the original. I am miserable. Long shoot. It’s raining in Vancouver, all day, err day,…”

He said he had “a mini nervous breakdown complete with daily episodic panic”.

Krumholtz said that Allen and 200 kids, who played elves in the film, had to leave by 3pm daily so he was often “acting with tennis balls on c-stands”.

“All day, err day. For three months. I am deeply depressed,” he wrote.

“Quarter life crisis, dressed in an elf costume. The crew was compassionate as I was noticeably disturbed.”

He also revealed that the set he was working on caught fire at one stage and he alerted staffers to the incident.

“One day, the top level of the toy workshop caught fire from an overheated light. I calmly alerted the producers to the fire, I saved that set and many lives,” he said.

Krumholtz’s revelations come after actress Casey Wilson claimed that Tim Allen was one of the rudest co-stars she’s ever worked with, after they worked together on a pilot episode of the Disney+ show The Santa Clauses.

SNL star Wilson, 43, said in a recent episode of her B–ch Sesh podcast said that working with Home Improvement star Allen, 70, was: “The truly single worst experience I’ve ever had with a co-star ever.”

“Tim Allen was such a b—h,” she alleged, according to Variety.

”When he was done [on set], he was so f–king rude. Never made eye contact, never said anything. It was so uncomfortable.”

She claimed that when he left, he just said, “leaving!” rather than telling cast and crew.

She explained that during a scene they had together, she had to throw stuff at him as he was coming down a chimney as Santa and her character thought he was a robber.

“So I’m throwing things at him. [He] goes over to the producer who is standing four feet from me and goes, and I hear him, he goes, ‘You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines’.

“The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me and he goes, ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.'”

She also claimed that another person on set told her: “You’re seeing him on a good day.”

The Santa Clauses TV series has been running for two seasons from 2022 to 2023.
