Are they leggings? Are they pants? The lines continue to get blurred. We’re seeing this play out in terms of how leggings are styled, as well as the designs themselves. On the F/W 23 runway, Miu Miu endorsed wearing leggings in place of pants, styling them with crewneck sweaters, hoodies, and tailored outerwear. As I mentioned, leggings are also crossing into the pant sphere more and more. High Sport’s kick flare pants are one of the most viral pieces amongst fashion insiders in recent memory and have created huge demand for the soft legging-pants. Brands include Ferragamo and Theory showed leggings with tailored finishes in their S/S 24 runway collections. Capri-length leggings, too, are dominating and we’re seeing them worn in dressy ways, styled with leather tops in Phillip Lim’s S/S 24 collection and with heels on the street style scene.
