Sydney Sweeney has spoken to the public commentary about her body that has been circling since her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The actor’s looks and body have become a topic of conversation among public commentators instead of her acting and producing achievements.
This was heightened after she hosted the famous Saturday Night Live two weeks ago. While the hosting gig was a huge success, appearing in figure hugging outfits and poking fun at her appearance gave rise to commentary.

Sitting down with Sweeney as she promotes her upcoming film “Immaculate“, Variety’s Daniel D’Addario asked her about it.
“I was struck once again by the way people talk and write about your body, including at times in a politicised way,” he explained before proceeding to ask if the conversation reaches her and how she feels about it.
Sweeney admitted that she is aware of the comments but chooses to turn a blind eye.
“I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction,” she said.

“I don’t know how to explain it – I’m still trying to figure it out myself.”
She continued to explain that she feels her status as a public figure has given the public a sense of ownership over her.
“People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe I’ve signed my life away,” she said.

Alluding to the objectification she experiences in public commentary, Sweeney says that she feels removed from herself.
“[People believe] that I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore,” she shared.
“It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.”
