Sharon Osbourne breaks down while accepting Rolling Stones Magazine award for husband Ozzy amid ongoing health battle


Sharon Osbourne thanked Rolling Stone Magazine through tears as she accepted her husband Ozzy’s award on his behalf amid his ongoing health battle.

Accepting the magazine’s ICON award on Ozzy‘s behalf, she thanked the magazine for recognising her husband’s contributions to the rock genre.

“I can remember when Ozzy first got the cover he said, ‘Does this mean I’ve made it now?’, and I’m like ‘Yeah I think so,'” Sharon, 71, recalled.

“You know that if you were covered, you were making an impact on what you love to do,” she said, before tearing up and excusing herself.

Speakig of his 55-year-long career, she said, “I am just so proud of him as a man as a musician. It’s been my honour to be on his coattails. I adore him. And you’ve just got no idea what this means,” before breaking down completely and apologising – “I knew I was gonna f–k this up by getting too emotional and I hate when I do that!”

She continued, “Ozzy is what rock and roll is all about. He’s wild, he’s fabulous, he’s talented. He’s like a f–king uncaged animal, and I adore him and I know you all do.”

Ozzy, 74, was unable to fly from California, where they reside, to London to accept the award in person due to complications from his recent surgery that left him “practically crippled.”

It was his fourth surgery on his back following a fall in 2019, and this time, doctors found a tumour on his spine.

He told Rolling Stone Magazine, “It really knocked me about. The second surgery went drastically wrong and virtually left me crippled.

“I thought I’d be up and running after the second and third, but with the last one they put a f–king rod in my spine. They found a tumour in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It’s pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f–ked up.” He has also suffered from Parkinson’s disease since 2019.

He has also expressed his regret at not being able to “say goodbye” to his fans, after being forced to cancel his tour earlier this year.

“That’s one of the things I’ve been the most f–king pissed off at: I never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you’
