Christina Applegate has revealed she has 30 lesions on her brain from her Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The Dead to Me actress, 52, spoke about her health battle on a recent episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert.
“I have 30 lesions on my brain,” she said. “My biggest one is behind my right eye, so my right eye hurts a lot.”

So far her vision hasn’t been affected but this could worsen as the disease progresses.
Applegate, who was officially diagnosed with MS in 2021, explained on the podcast about other impacts of her condition, including mobility issues.

“My hand starts to go weird and then I’ll get a seizure-y feeling sometimes in my brain,” she said.
MS is the most common acquired chronic neurological disease affecting young adults, according to MS Australia.

In MS, the body’s own immune system mistakenly attacks and damages the fatty material – called myelin – around the nerves. This results in a range of symptoms.

Sufferers are commonly diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40, with three times more women affected than men. It is a progressive disease with no cure.
It isn’t known what causes MS.
Applegate described herself as the “worst MSer” who goes to bed instead of stretching her muscles when she is in pain.
She described MS as a “mean girl” who will “push back” if she exerts herself.
”It sucks,” she said. “I hate it so much. I’m so mad about it. You can’t overcome it.”
She said her daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble, 13, is her reason to get out of bed in the morning.
