American influencer Jackie Miller James has returned to social media with a health update almost a year after her life-threatening health crisis days before her due date.
The 36-year-old shared a video update on Instagram where she revealed an aphasia diagnosis after suffering a brain aneurysm and slipping into a coma last May.
James underwent an emergency C-section to deliver her daughter Knoxly last year at the same time surgeons performed brain surgery on the influencer.

“Thank you for all of your love and support, we have been in hospitals from California, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas,” James said in the video.
“It’s been a tough year, but ready to go home after 10 months recovery,” she added.
“There is more work to be done but because of friends and family and this community, we’re ready to start living again.”

Almost a year after the health scare, Miller opened up in her caption about her “tough” recovery after being given a “a 50/50 chance of making it through the night.”
“After a month in the ICU here in Orange County, we traveled from hospital to hospital pursuing continued therapies that would help me learn to live again,” she wrote.
“I still struggle with aphasia, which impacts my speech, and have limited use of my right arm and leg. But, I’m more motivated than ever to keep putting in the work,” she added.
James’ family told People the influencer has been diagnosed with expressive aphasia.
According to Mayo Clinic, aphasia is “a disorder that affects how you communicate” and “happens suddenly after a stroke or a head injury.”

“While recovery has had some incredibly tough moments, having my 10-month old daughter Knoxly by my side has been my source of motivation.”
James then specifically thanked her husband Austin who she said “has been my rock” throughout her recovery.
The influencer admitted “the journey to reclaim my life is ongoing”, adding that her hope by sharing her journey it to “offer empathy, provide hope, and bring awareness to the risks women face in pregnancy.”

A week before she was due to give birth, James was rushed to the emergency room after her husband found her unconscious at home.
The influencer’s sisters set up a GoFundMe page to support James’ recovery, revealing she suffered an “aneurysm rupture, leading to severe brain bleeding and injury.”
After her daughter was delivered safely, James, who was put in a medically induced coma, then underwent five more brain procedures.
