Slezak, born in Hollywood, comes from an acting family.

Her late father was Austrian actor Walter Slezak, who was the son of opera tenor Leo Slezak.

Speaking about her character Victoria on One Life to Live, Slezak told Digital Journal: “I loved who my character Victoria, was: nonjudgmental, honest and very trustworthy. She was also trusting, which wasn’t always to her benefit.”

She also gave her best acting advice, telling aspiring stars to be “trained,” saying: “Don’t think you can just go and do it. You need training in speech, diction and how to think through a character.”
